Page 3American Cut
American Cut is a reminder that all steakhouses are big, but not all steakhouses are boring. Hit it up for the next time you have a big night with your boss on the books.
Aburiya Kinnosuke
An authentic Japanese establishment, all the way down to the robata grill. Aburiya Kinnosuke is a Midtown East experience you should have.
Bill's Bar & Burger
We had hoped that instead of conforming to Midtown, Bill’s Bar and Burger would make Midtown conform to it. It did not.
The Modern
The Modern is really two different experiences: the bar, and the dining room. Here’s what you need to know about both.
Sushi Yasuda
To have a mind-blowing eating experience at Sushi Yasuda in Midtown, sit at the sushi counter, order the omakase, and enjoy.
Moti Mahal Delux
Moti Mahal Delux, on the Upper East Side, is the first US franchise of the massive Indian restaurant chain from New Delhi.
Pera Mediterranean Brasserie
Pera is a big Mediterranean restaurant in Midtown, and it’s a decent option for dinner with a group near Grand Central.
Ai Fiori
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn’t bad, but just isn’t quite our style.
Rotisserie Georgette
We’ve seen some seriously good reviews of Rotisserie Georgette in reputable publications, like the New Yorker. As far as we can tell, your fondness for this place is directly related to how worried you’ll be about bill at the end of the night. And that’s really the clientele here – people who don’t worry much about bills.
Chef’s Table At Brooklyn Fare
Chef’s Table At Brooklyn Fare in Hell’s Kitchen serves a tasting menu that’s unlike anything else you’ll eat in NYC.
Legacy Records
Legacy Records is a big restaurant in Hudson Yards from the team behind Pasquale Jones and Charlie Bird. It’s pricey, but worth it.
Hutong
Hutong is a gaudy Chinese spot in Midtown East where you can get some very good dim sum if you’re willing to spend a lot of money.
Agern
Agern is a Nordic restaurant inside Grand Central that’s perfect for lunch or dinner when your company is paying.
The Polynesian
The Polynesian is a tiki-themed rooftop cocktail bar in Midtown from the people behind Carbone and The Grill.
Sushi Seki Chelsea
The Chelsea Sushi Seki outpost is bigger and badder than the original. Aside from the decor differences, everything appears to be exactly the same.
Milos
Milos is a Midtown Greek restaurant specializing in fresh fish shipped in from the Mediterranean daily. It's pricey for dinner, but lunch is a steal.
Cathédrale
Cathedrale is an enormous, overpriced French restaurant from the people behind Tao - and, despite the sprawling space, it isn’t that fun.
The Grill
The Grill is the revamp of the legendary Four Seasons restaurant, run by the people behind Carbone. It’s very similar, very expensive, and worth it.
The National
The National is a seasonal restaurant and brasserie in Midtown with solid eats for all meals at prices that aren’t cheap but aren’t abusive.
Amali
The food at Amali is both interesting and delicious, which makes it stand out from the rest of the overpriced stuff in the neighborhood.
Bar Boulud
Daniel Boulud's "casual bistro" Bar Boulud is one of the best places to eat near Lincoln Square.
Shuko
Shuko, an unmarked Japanese spot near Union Square, is one of the top omakase experiences in NYC.
Union Square Cafe
Union Square Cafe is a classic New York City restaurant having its second life in a new space. The good news? It’s still as good as ever.
