And that’s really the clientele here – people who don’t worry much about bills.

Kaia is a South African wine bar with good food, and it’s perfect for a low-key date night on the UES.

Walking by Bella Blu, you might assume it’s just like every other mediocre, stuffy restaurant in the Upper East Side. Stuffy, it most certainly is. But it’s actually far from mediocre – as long as you order correctly.

An unexpectedly great Greek restaurant on York Avenue. If we just had a better way to get up here, we'd be here all the time. Who wants to carpool?
Sfoglia
An import from Nantucket, Sfoglia is one of the few Upper East Side joints that, if transported to downtown, wouldn’t feel out of place.
Sushi Ishikawa
Sushi Ishikawa is an omakase sushi restaurant on the Upper East Side where you can eat a high-end sushi meal for around $100.
Maison Kayser
Le Pain Quotidien, you are officially on notice. Maison Kayser is better, and people can actually pronounce it. Sort of.
The Jeffrey
The Jeffrey is an Upper East Side East beer garden and espresso bar, with great bar snacks and excellent cocktails. Be happy you’ve heard of it.
Uva
Uva is a rustic, cozy little Italian Upper East Side spot that is ideal for date night, mostly because it’s easy.
Pizza Beach
Pizza Beach is great if you're looking to Instagram your dinner. It's not great if you're looking to eat good pizza.
Amali
The food at Amali is both interesting and delicious, which makes it stand out from the rest of the overpriced stuff in the neighborhood.

Some of the best pasta around is found at this old school-feeling spot on the Upper East Side.
Flex Mussels
Flex is a restaurant import from Prince Edward Island, which immediately gives it some credibility - "P.E.I" as they call it, is the source of some of the best mussels the world has to offer.

It’s time to up your Indian food game. We really can’t get enough of this place. The food at Om is authentic, light, and incredibly good.
Neil's Coffee Shop
The food at Neil's hasn't changed in half a century, but we're okay with that. This Upper East Side diner is a classic.
