Buvette
Buvette is a French restaurant in the West Village that’s great for a date or a really good breakfast. Just be aware that it can get pretty cramped.
L’Artusi
One of our favorite West Village Italian spots, L'Artusi is still as reliable as ever. Try it for a special dinner, and order pasta.
Morandi
Morandi is a big, pricey West Village Italian spot from the people behind Balthazar and Minetta Tavern with decent food and a charming farmhouse feel.
Taim Falafel
A falafel sandwich at Taim is the best thing you can get in NYC for less than $10 and also theoretically eat daily without disastrous consequences.
High Street on Hudson
High Street on Hudson is a Philly import in the West Village that will happily make you a sandwich or a bowl of tripe. You should have both.
Umami Burger
From sad plasticky tater tots to instantly liquifying buns, Umami Burger has failed The Infatuation time after time.
Highlands
This Scottish cocktail bar is best used for a cold night and/or any night you’re looking to eat some haggis and drink too much. So...every night?
Westville
While many New Yorkers rely on coffee and Pret A Manger to get them through the day, Steinthal runs on a steady diet of cereal, water, and Westville.
Old Rose
Old Rose is a casual spot in the bottom of a hotel in the West Village where you can get some solid, affordable Italian/American food.
Piccolo Angolo
We love Piccolo Angolo because it’s the antithesis of every other restaurant within walking distance. There is nothing cool or buzzworthy happening here, just really good, classic Italian food that will make you happy and probably very fat.
EN Japanese Brasserie
EN Japanese Brasserie is as useful for a big group dinner in a private room as it is for first date romance. Just ask all the celebrities that are regulars.
Emily West Village
Emily West Village is a mashup of the original Emily in Clinton Hill and Emmy Squared in Williamsburg.
La Bonbonniere
Sometimes you don’t want brunch. Sometimes you want breakfast at noon. There’s a difference. La Bonbonniere is a Village safe haven from all things hollandaise, and one of the best true breakfast joints in town.
Wogies
We all get cravings for wings, cheesesteaks and waffle fries sometimes, and when we need to take care of that situation, Wogies is there for us.
The Happiest Hour
For those times in your life when you just need a stiff drink and delicious burger in the West Village, The Happiest Hour is the move.
Cafe Cluny
A can’t miss West Village Infatuation go-to that’s Perfect For all kinds of things, including Brunch, Date Night, and Dinner with the Parents.
Employees Only
These days, Employees Only is not the hotspot it once was. But while the crowd might have lost a step, the cocktails have not, and it’s still packed with people every time we stop by.
Rossopomodoro
Rossopomodoro isn’t the best Italian restaurant in the West Village, and it isn’t the second or third-best either. But it’s still a useful place.
Jack's Wife Freda
The new West Village outpost of Jack's Wife Freda is the same as the original, with a bigger, more comfortable space.
