Parlay is a coffee shop in Sunset Park with big windows, a bunch of tables, and a record player with a stack of vinyl behind the counter. Do they ever turn that record player on? We honestly aren’t sure. But there’s usually some good music playing here regardless. This is a very pleasant place to hang out and grab some breakfast or lunch. We especially like the chicken curry (that comes with a buttery roti canai on the side), and there are also plenty of things like eggs benedict, pancakes, and various sandwiches.

Mulberry & Vine
Mulberry & Vine's cheap-ish and healthy platters make it one of our favorite lunch spots in Tribeca. The big and bright space doesn't hurt either.

The Flower Shop is a restaurant on the LES with a 1970′s theme and a basement bar where you can drink amongst attractive people.
Brindle Room exemplifies amateur hour. Inedible food, sad decor, and the dishes took eons to reach our plates.
