The people who opened Williamsburg's Sunday in Brooklyn weren’t dreaming big enough when they named the place. In addition to an outpost in London, this popular spot now has a pop-up in a large two-story space in the South Street Seaport, which is running until at least mid-April. Among a lot of typical brunch items like avocado toast, shakshuka, and steak and eggs, the malted pancakes stick out as a “one of these things is not like the other” dish. They have a muffin-like texture and come with a slightly salty hazelnut maple praline topping that you spread like a jam. Pancakes hadn’t reached their full potential until these came along.

Sunday in Brooklyn

A Williamsburg restaurant that’s a good place for brunch, and an even better place to hang out.

For a relatively cheap place with ample space and good drinks, I’m not complaining. For the Seaport, it’s definitely a good option. Put this restaurant anywhere else though, and we’d keep on walking.
