If you thought 7pm sunsets would be the most interesting thing to come out of March, think again. This month is packed with tons of fun pop-ups, special events, and new openings to check out. So stay dry out there, and keep checking back here for weekly updates.

Original Joe’s is serving corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day from March 16th through this weekend. Both their North Beach and Westlake locations are offering the special, along with green cream-topped Irish coffees and chocolate Guinness cake.

The annual Oakland Restaurant Week is going down March 16th-26th, which means you can once again get lunch and dinner specials ($15-65) from over 125 local restaurants. The full lineup of spots is here, and it includes some of our favorites like Jo’s Modern Thai, Cocobreeze, and Horn Barbecue.

Off The Grid officially returns to Fort Mason March 24th. This season, the weekly food truck festival is also hosting non-truck food businesses serving things like malasadas, oysters, and barbecue, in addition to the usual food trucks, cocktail bars, and live music.

Piglet & Co is a Taiwanese night market-inspired spot we recently added to the Hit List. We love their dinner menu of Asian comfort food dishes, so are happy to hear that they just launched brunch on Sundays. The $45 three-course menu includes things like black bean steamed riblets and coconut sweet rice cakes. Reserve here.

The whole roasted pig feast at Prubechu returns Sunday, March 26th. Head to the patio at the Guamanian restaurant in the Mission for chamorro sweet rolls, chicken kelaguen, coconut titiyas, and, of course, roast pork. Tickets ($85) are available here.

Osito, the live-fire fine dining restaurant in the Mission, is popping up at Snail Bar, the natural wine spot in Oakland. On March 19th, they’ll serve a collaborative tasting menu of dishes “kissed by fire." $120 per person, grab a ticket here.

On Saturday, March 25th (9am-2pm), head to the Ferry Terminal Plaza and Ferry Building Farmers Market to grab breakfast or lunch from 14 Black women-owned food businesses. Vendors include some of our favorite spots, like LoJo’s Tacos and Minnie Bell’s.

Okkon is an Oakland-based pop-up serving customizable okonomiyaki—and they just landed a regular spot at Forage Kitchen, near Uptown Oakland. So you can (and should) head over Thursdays through Sundays to get gyoza and incredible made-to-order savory pancakes.
Lolinda, the Argentinian steakhouse in the Mission, is serving a special dinner in celebration of Women’s History Month. The March 16th event includes pairings by Argentinian winemaker Laura Catena, and features dishes like halibut ceviche and meat platters of grilled short rib, chorizo, morcilla, and more. Tickets ($150) are available here.

The newest kiosk to join the Ferry Building Marketplace is Peaches Patties, a spot focused on excellent Jamaican patties. They're hearty, flaky pockets filled with things like berbere-spiced lentils or curry chicken, but the plates of jerk chicken that pack heat are also worth your time.

All month long, the Fort Mason beer hall, Radhaus, is celebrating Starkbierfest (Strong Beer Month). They’ll have seafood specials and events like Mad Hatter Day (wear a hat for a free bier ticket), and more. The full lineup is here.

Schroeder’s is ringing in their 130th year in SF with a special anniversary German pilsner brewed by East Brother Beer Co. and monthly deals. The FiDi pub is also hosting their annual St. Paddy’s Day Block Party on March 17th with green beer, Jell-O shots, corned beef sandwiches on pretzel buns, cocktails, live music, and more.
