5 Exciting Things To Eat & Do In November

Fireworks, roti, and mulled wine mistakes.

And so we enter the penultimate month of the year in 20 degree temperatures that everyone is enjoying, while also trying not to think about. Brush it all under the rug, friends, and then lock the door. Everything is going to be fine. There are fireworks to look forward to after all, thanks to give, and mulled wine to crack into.

Look At The Pretty Colours In The Sky Then Eat Some Roti

Which one is your favourite? Ours is the circular one. Kind of yellow-looking. No, not the fireworks! The roti! The one from Roti King in Battersea. The one that you can tear apart and dunk into warming curry. It’s the perfect thing to eat after the fireworks display at Battersea Park, which is on both Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th this year, FYI, so get booking.

Eat Chips, Watch The World Cup, Cry When England Lose

Nothing says ‘I don’t want to look at my bank balance in the morning’ like an evening spent singing Sweet Caroline with a group of people you will never see again. Yes, the World Cup is back. And so too are England’s hopeless hopes. The good news is that both The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea and The George in Fitzrovia—two premium gastropubs with great grub—will be showing games. Bangers and mash, and a mean fish and chips feature on both menus.

Celebrate Thanksgiving At The Colony Grill Room

There is much to be thankful for this year, such as unelected Prime Ministers and the fact a meteor hasn’t hit Earth, wiping out the entirety of mankind. Given we are such blessed people, you will probably feel the urge to give thanks, just like our friends across the pond. Thankfully, The Colony Grill Room in Mayfair has the perfect setup for this. The American-style grill restaurant has a special menu, complete with a whole turkey you probably don’t like that much, and, of course, pecan pie. It’s £85 a head.

Explore Your Interest In Sadism At Winter Wonderland

The annual Christmas festival separates the wheat from the chaff. It is a mental test in what will break you first. Is it the £7 shot of mulled wine? Or is it the dystopian Bavarian village? Maybe it’s the ferris wheel of screams rotating over Hyde Park. Just like yin and yang, matter and antimatter, your true Christmas spirit cannot exist without the horrors of Winter Wonderland.
