The prospect of an all-day French cafe in the CD next door to L’Oursin (and from the same team) is nothing short of exciting. We love snacking on seafood with pét-nat at L’Oursin, so doing the same thing at lunchtime with baguette sandwiches? Sign us right up. And while Bar Bayonne is a great hang, the limited food served here falls flat. Everything’s stored in a refrigerator before it hits your table, but we wish it wasn’t. Ham-stuffed baguettes chew like bread jerky, and the otherwise tasty quiche is a frigid egg pie that we wish was served at room temperature instead. Use Bar Bayonne strictly for a coffee-and-croissant break, or swing by at sundown for a glass of sherry.
