Union Pool is an OG Williamsburg meeting-people party. It has three distinct spaces, with three distinct vibes - so whether you’re looking to hang in the bar area, have tacos in the outdoor area, or get down in the dance area - you have lots of opportunities to mix it up. Everyone is generally always having a good time at Union Pool, and it’s the perfect place to drunkenly meet the next person you’re going to break up with.

Ammazzacaffè in Williamsburg has above-average Italian food and a nice back patio, and somehow, most people don’t seem to know about it.
While the burger and the brunch menu are great, the rest of the menu at Cafe Colette falls short.

The Empellón in MIdtown is bigger and fancier than either of the Empellóns downtown, and it’s good to know about if you work in the area.
This casual but hip restaurant is not an attempt at authentic Mexican, but rather an inspired interpretation using Latin flavors and fresh ingredients.
As we’re all well aware, Mexican food in Manhattan generally blows. Empellon hasn’t come to save the day, but it isn’t adding to the problem either. While nothing blew us away, the food was solid with the good outweighing the bad.
