The Magician isn’t fancy, but it isn’t exactly a dive bar. It’s mostly just a normal place. Which is strange for the Lower East Side. Usually, people come down here to dance, take shots, drink fancy cocktails on a rooftop. But at The Magician, you just get a beer and drink it at an old round table with your friends in a surprisingly spacious room. So if you just want cheap drinks and a place to drink them, come here. Note: it’s cash only.

Russ & Daughters Cafe
Russ & Daughters has finally expanded, after 100 years in business. Now you can sit down in a comfy booth while you enjoy your lox, and it's glorious.
Minnie’s is a casual little spot on the LES where you can stop by for a burger or a farro salad without a reservation on a Friday night.

The Ten Bells
The Ten Bells is a beautifully laid out space with a nice bar, plenty of room for hanging, an incredible wine list made up entirely of organic and sustainable wines, and an oyster happy hour every damn day. But despite also having a large menu of mostly Spanish small plates, eating a full-blown meal here is unnecessary.
