Like a lot of NYC restaurants—although not many others in Ridgewood—Ltauha does the kind of food ambiguously referred to as “American,” and they do it very well. Given the plain, tavern-like decor, complete with faux-marble walls and a single chandelier, you might think that you’re in for yet another generic burger-and-roast-chicken experience. But don’t make assumptions. The roast chicken, served in a pool of jus, is a highlight of the genre, and the oversized gnocchi it comes with are as fluffy as mashed potatoes. Stop by for a casual date night, and pair your chicken with a frozen margarita and some cheesy fried brussels sprouts.
