Little Grenjai
Included In
New York has no shortage of smashburgers. None of them taste quite like the krapow smash at Little Grenjai in Bed-Stuy though. Topped with American cheese, holy basil, lemongrassy giardiniera, and spicy-sweet special sauce, it encapsulates everything about this Thai American spot between the two halves of its sesame-seeded bun. Combining full-throated Thai flavors with a laid-back diner vibe, Little Grenjai has chrome stools and red-and-white checkered napkins, an evolving menu of things like pad cha clam toast and crispy rice salad with lots of herbs, and some pretty cool merch. Come during lunch for a burger in the window seat, or at night to sip some natural wine while working your way through the day's menu. Either way, get the Thai tea cake for dessert.
