Break Bar is like an amusement park for adults. So instead of face painting and teacups that spin you around until you’re nauseous, this huge, industrial space in Astoria has pool and ping pong tables, mini bocce courts, and giant Connect 4. That all makes it a great spot to day drink with a group, but it also happens to be one of the best sports bars in the city. There are pitchers of beer, great buffalo wings, and TVs and projectors everywhere - including around the pool tables in case you feel like multitasking.

Trattoria L’icontro is not only awesome, but worthy of a trip to Astoria with a group of your friends. Everything about the space is thoroughly cheesy and overstated, but that’s kind of the whole point. No gimmicks, just really good Italian food and really nice people.

Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine
In truth, without a basketball court and Walt Clyde Frazier's involvement, we wouldn’t be talking about the Wine and Dine. The space is massive, the layout is clunky, but the food is pretty good. If you're a hoops fan, it's a must visit.
Good Enough To Eat
The Upper West Side may not be flush with noteworthy dining out options, but they certainly have one meal on lockdown – brunch. Good Enough To Eat has been an institution up in these parts for a good 30 years, and a spot we'll happily go to for simple, heavy handed home cooking.
