5 Exciting Things To Do Between July 20th - 26th

Check out these restaurants, pop-ups, and special events all around NYC.

Congratulations. You've made it halfway through the year, and you should celebrate shamelessly like it's your half birthday (which is totally a thing). You've got plenty of opportunities to eat, dance, and drink this week with the party package of your choice: salsa and rum, martinis and disco, sake and karaoke, tequila and donuts, or scallion pancakes and some sunbathing by the pool.

Freehold

Thursday, July 21st is officially Hemingway Day. Freehold is paying homage to the author's time in Havana with salsa dancing, cigar rolling, and a special food menu. Grab a Cuban rum cocktail and play some Old Havana casino games to help raise money for local charities CUFFH and Center for a Free Cuba. The event starts at 5pm, and you can find more info here.

This week, you have the opportunity to have a perfect Saturday at Kaia with a raw-bar fest during the day and disco drag at night. Come here for oysters or a full seafood feast at 1pm, or swing by at 10pm for a drag show, $10 martinis, and dancing. More info here.

The Pool House at The Rockaway Hotel

If you’ve ever wished you could have your Win Son by the pool, now’s your chance. Win Son Bakery will be serving their beloved scallion BEC and various summer seafoods and salads at the Pool House at the Rockaway Hotel next Monday from 3pm until whenever they sell out. More info here.

Moonrise Izakaya is where you go for Japanese bar food, but it’s also where you go to have a lot of fun while you eat it. A makeshift living room setup with copious amounts of sake is, of course, the perfect incubator for a super fun karaoke night, so this UWS restaurant is starting a weekly one in partnership with Hiatus Tequila. Come by this Monday from 7-11pm to sing karaoke and drink special cocktails. More info here.

Sunday, June 24th, is National Tequila Day, and Williamsburg restaurant Aldama has partnered with tequila company El Tequileño to create a limited-edition doughnut by Fan Fan Doughnuts. The tequila will only be in the whipped cream on top, so you have a perfectly acceptable way to celebrate at breakfast. The specialty doughnut will be available for purchase through the end of the month.
