Mezza Me
Mezza Me is in that elite category of restaurants where you can have fun eating a salad. Just a pigeon’s scuttle from Brixton station, this Lebanese spot has been decorated by someone who has trouble sticking to a theme, but is probably great fun on a night out. Oversized bottle caps decorate the salad bar, and Tintin magazines are strung up on the walls. Truly, we have no idea. By the time you come to use the salt and pepper shakers shaped like VW campers, it feels totally normal. The menu is full of perfectly pleasant crowd-pleasers—crispy shell kebbeh with soft minced lamb inside, silky smooth hummus, and smoky soujouk sausages. Highlights are the sharing dishes so come with a crowd—which is what this laid-back, great little place is best suited for anyway.
