Soul Prime

Soul Prime is a soul food restaurant in Lincoln Park, a neighborhood that’s not exactly brimming with soul food options. Thankfully Soul Prime does justice to fried chicken, mac and cheese, greens, cornbread, and anything smothered in gravy. The baked chicken falls off the bone when you look at it. Everything is cooked-to-order, so don’t come here expecting a quick meal—you will be extending your parking while waiting for your entree. But do expect to vibe out to some Beyonce, and for the chef to come out and personally thank you for being there. It’s BYOB for now, but they plan to have a liquor license soon.
