Upstairs at Public Records

Upstairs at Public Records is like a mellow club where, instead of standing within whispering distance of 50 sweaty people who are trying to get drinks, you can sit on a couch and listen to good music. Located in a loft-like room above the restaurant at Public Records in Gowanus, this listening lounge has a futuristic feel, with white sofas, Bauhaus-esque armchairs, and a sound system that looks like it was designed by NASA. Thursday through Saturday, you can stop by and drink a cocktail made with clarified lime juice while you listen to whatever obscure vinyl the DJ decides to whip out. Make a reservation to guarantee yourself a seat.
