Las Chilangas
Included In
In the quesadilla landscape of New York City, Las Chilangas is a very heavy hitter. The Mexico City-inspired spot in Ridgewood does a few different versions—all served on thick, crispy housemade corn tortillas—but the one you should start with is the puerca. A pretext for consuming an excess of pork, it’s filled with maciza and cueritos, with a bit of oreja for crunchy texture. Other standouts include the enchiladas verdes and crispy cecina—but you can skip the pozole (a little too watery). Bring the whole family, and eat a casual meal in the bright yellow room lined with shelves of potted plants.
