Fritz

You go to Fritz, a 1920s Berlin-inspired cocktail bar in Fort Greene, for one thing: the martini, which comes with a sidecar on ice, a lemon twist, and three olives. Sipping this in a green leather booth is how you should begin a particularly classy evening preceding your yearly visit to BAM, or end a day that was bad enough to necessitate a martini with a side of martini. Don’t try the Truffle Shuffle Sbagliato and other overly fussy cocktails, unless you’re still stuck in your truffles-on-everything phase. Instead, order another round of martinis. If you need a bite, ignore the boring, vaguely German seafood-centric snacks and head next door to Black Forest Brooklyn. It’s owned by the same couple, and you can eat a German sausage there.
