Mark Iacono and the team behind Lucali are opening a slice shop in Carroll Gardens called Baby Luc’s. According to a job posting for a back-of-house position, the “project will be a neighborhood pizzeria serving slices, other menu items, and delicious things to drink.” Lucali has famously never sold pizza by the slice, and operates with a BYOB policy.
Baby’s Luc’s is associated with Act 2 Hospitality Group (who works with other restaurants like Lola Taverna in West Soho), and the Culinary Agents job posting categorizes it as a “quick service” restaurant looking for no more than 10 employees.
The new slice shop at 387 Court Street (in the former Madcap Cafe space) will be just two blocks from the original Lucali location on Henry Street. And considering eating at Lucali often requires lining up on the sidewalk at 4pm, the addition of Baby Luc’s might mean a fast track to their wood-fired, New York-style pizza with its signature light, blistered crust.
Baby Luc’s has not yet announced its opening date.
We’ll continue to update this piece as we get more information on Baby Luc’s opening timeline.
