Before it was a brick-and-mortar in Coral Gables, the team behind Shadow Wagyu sourced wagyu beef for NBA players with a lot of calories to burn. Now, it’s a butcher shop that doubles as a restaurant and serves wagyu everything: burgers, hotdogs, anticuchos, and short ribs. It has about nine stools inside and a high top table outside, so it’s a little hard to find a seat on weekends. But it’s worth a shot if you want to try crispy queso frito that’s been dunked into a fryer full of wagyu tallow (everything is cooked in wagyu fat, even the fries). They don’t take reservations, except for a tasting menu that’s $300 per person. But if you don’t have that kind of baller money, you should still drop in for the best fries you’ve ever had—just be prepared to pay $10 for them.
