Tartine Santa Monica
Where we've featured it
The Santa Monica outpost of SF’s excellent Tartine bakery somehow managed to open in the middle of the quarantine. And (unique among their LA locations) they’ve got a burger on the menu. It’s served with house-made American cheese, and lacto-fermented pickles, on (maybe the best part, considering how good this bakery is) a house-made yam bun. Pick-up in-store, or delivery via apps.

Truth be told, it’s a gutsy move to open a restaurant during quarantine. But Tartine, the famous Bay Area spot known for their house-baked loaves, did exactly that in Santa Monica in March. And if you’ve consistently failed at getting your sourdough to rise, Tartine will make you feel better - because as soon as you taste their tremendous toasted sesame loaf, you’ll know that you never could have made anything this good, anyway. They’ve also got pastries and cookies, too, if you want something sweeter. Pick-up or delivery via apps 8am-3pm Mondays and Wednesdays (8am-4pm Thursday-Sunday).
