Tea House Chinese is a spacious, dimly lit Chinese restaurant on Deptford High Street that’s equally as good for a big family meal (thanks to the deep booths), as it is for a solo midweek dinner when it’s quieter (the dumplings pair well with Netflix). The dim sum isn’t the best we’ve had, and some dishes like smashed cucumber don’t quite hit the spot. But if you’re looking for a good-value, comforting meal in the area, Tea House Chinese is a safe bet. You should know that they serve things like Shanghai stir-fried noodles, soy chicken, and hot pots. But if the prawn and chive dumplings and silky-smooth cheung fun aren’t ticked off your dim sum order sheet, you’re doing it wrong.
