Solis
If you’re the kind of person who likes to follow up a Uniqlo splurge with a juicy, celebratory flat-iron steak and a jug of white sangria, you’ll love Solis in Battersea’s Arcade Food Hall. But despite its best efforts—a pretty tiled counter, a compelling baked cheesecake—it still feels too much like eating in a shopping centre to seek it out if you aren’t shopping. The bustling dining room is inside the shiny, industrial-looking Power Station and serves perfectly good chicken and steaks with well-seasoned fries, and South American-leaning starters like croquetas and elotes. But we still can’t imagine wanting to go back for the food alone. If you are planning a day of shopping and want a quick, dependable bite, know that you should book ahead for the best chance of getting seated quickly, and it’s best to stick to a formula of a half grilled chicken, chips, and a cherry-topped sundae.
