Mohsen
A Persian restaurant in Kensington, Mohsen is a quaint neighbourhood spot that smells like freshly baked naan at all times. The servers run around like they’re hosting a hectic dinner party at their own house, and there’s always at least one person in the small, art-filled room trying to get hold of someone to ask for more bread. Families gather around long tables where thick, refreshing mast-o-khair and smoky kashk-e-bademjan are wiped clean in five minutes, and specials like excellent baghali polo ba mahicheh take centre stage. You should also order the buttery, grilled koobideh with confidence, and tender skewers of citrussy saffron and turmeric-stained chicken that pair perfectly with mounds of fluffy rice. Bring a couple of friends, split some dips to start, and always end with a pot of strong Persian tea.
