Lola’s Restaurant & Bar
Lola’s is busy–so busy, in fact, that you might think this place is good. It’s not. It’s filled with people who probably, much like you, just Googled “West Loop restaurants.” This American spot across from the McDonald’s headquarters is a chaotic mess, with an all-over-the-place menu that includes boring dishes like underseasoned curried cauliflower in a vat of yogurt and shrimp cocktail unnecessarily smothered in an obnoxiously hot cocktail sauce the server will feel obligated to warn you about multiple times. The dark brick space seems to be mainly filled with people staying at the Hyatt, as evidenced by the amount of luggage at the bar. Considering how many great restaurants are in the neighborhood, there is no reason to come here.
