CHIReview
There’s no shortage of great BBQ in Chicago, and it’s our solemn duty to tell you when we come across another spot. Case in point: Krazy Hog BBQ, which used to be in Glenwood, but is currently operating as a virtual restaurant in Lincoln Park after Covid forced them to close last spring. They’re opening a new brick and mortar on the South Side, but until then you can get their BBQ for carryout and delivery.
The menu has things like ribs, rib tips, pulled pork, and sides that are almost better than the meat - like the mac and cheese and sweet baked beans. But Krazy Hog’s from-scratch sauces are the big reason we like ordering from here. They have several varieties of sauce - Krazy original, ’Bama white, Carolina honey, Texas heat, and (our personal favorite) the magnolia sweet, which is as thick as jam and tastes a little fruity. All of them magically enhance the tender, smoky meat and we’re currently investigating what other things this sauce is capable of improving. Preliminary findings indicate fries and wings, but not our Excel skills or the show Emily in Paris.
