OxKale

The next time you need food in Williamsburg that’s quick, feels healthyish, and is not the same salad you’ve had for lunch three times already this week, head to Oxkale. The fast-casual Caribbean spot is around the corner from its sister restaurant, raucous party staple Kokomo. Since you probably don’t want to eat lunch with a DJ dropping a beat in the background (and Kokomo only opens for brunch and dinner), this takeout-only spot is a good choice when you need some greens and grains with peppery sauces in the mix. Build your own oxtail bowl, try the jerk chicken salad, or get something called a lamb gyroti (gyro + roti).
