Nuan Xin does one thing extremely well: Taiwanese-style purple rice rolls filled with everything from sweet barbecued eel to cheesy shrimp. We especially love the braised pork with preserved vegetables. All of the rolls are under $5, and you can add one of five different sauces if you want to amp up the flavor. They also make tons of highly photogenic Taiwanese milk teas and fruity drinks you can jazz up with things like tapioca, purple rice, mango bubbles, and jelly. The cold drinks are great, but we think their plain hot milk tea is the best in Sunset Park. On weekends, the lines can get a bit long, but it’s worth the wait. Go on a weekday and you’ll have your rice roll in hand in just a few minutes.
