This Bushwick bar by the Myrtle JMZ stop has the look of an old-timey saloon—but a night here feels wonderfully unhinged at all times, like one of those house parties that your best friend’s band used to play. Ferns peek out from behind a big enclosed patio, where people take smoke breaks in between listening to noise bands performing in the basement. The strong cocktails, local musicians, and cozy dance floor give us flashbacks to a time when Bushwick’s best venues were underground, and every time we stop by, we end up having “one more drink” all night. A Thursday nightcap at Hart’s can quickly turn into a tipsy walk home at 3am, hugging a hot grilled cheese from their kitchen for warmth.
