Casa Lola

A tapas bar just steps from the 7 train should be a shoo-in for LIC’s best happy hour spot. Unfortunately, the food at Casa Lola doesn’t quite cut it. Croquettes, sardines, and even simple dishes like pan con tomate come out of the bustling open kitchen tasteless, soggy, and all-around lackluster. However, this place does have an extensive wine list, delicious sangria, and adorable olive-print wallpaper, which might be why it stays packed after work hours. If you’re on Vernon Blvd. and in the mood for fruity wine, have a drink here before going to one of LIC’s other great restaurants for dinner.
