In addition to serving good food, Jim and Neesie in the Generator Hostel makes great cocktails. This Mid-Beach spot is home to some of the best margaritas in the city, which go very well with their oysters with cucumber mint mignonette and the excellent crispy octopus too. It’s also pretty laid-back here, and feels more like a dim living room in case you’d like to actually hear the person you’re eating with.
Swizzle is a dark, cozy bar inside South Beach’s Stiles Hotel, and the drinks are really delicious.
Esotico is a shiny tiki bar and restaurant near Downtown. The drinks are strong and they serve a surprisingly good octopus hot dog.
Katana in North Beach is one of those sushi restaurants where the plates float by on a little stream, and it works great for small groups or dates.
Watr is a rooftop restaurant on top of South Beach’s 1 Hotel. The food is nothing special, but this place has one of the best views in Miami Beach.
