Hoja Taqueria is a small, casual taco spot in Downtown serving some very good tacos, burritos, and flautas. Options include a classic carne asada with beautifully charred beef, and a heritage pork al pastor. They also have some vegetarian-friendly ones, which happen to be our favorite. There’s a vegan koji sweet potato taco topped with peanut and almond sauce that’s sweet and savory. All of them are served on fresh tortillas that are tender but won’t rip in half on you. They have some simple but delicious burritos too, which aren’t too overstuffed or obnoxiously big. The shrimp and potato flautas are also crispy and delicious. The margaritas and tres leches cake should be part of your order too.
