Editor's note: Time Out Market has closed, but the Maíz Project is still operating around town. Check their Instagram for the latest info.

Maíz Project is a vendor inside South Beach’s Time Out Market making really delicious (and unique) Venezuelan arepas. The arepas have a purplish color and are made with heirloom corn. Filling options include cheese, steak, mushroom, and there’s usually a weekly special too. These are much different than most Venezuelan arepas you'll find in Miami, and more expensive too (around $15). But they're really good and worth trying if you’re on a mission to eat every arepa variation available in Miami (which you should be). Also, get tequeños. Always get tequeños.
