Dos Croquetas
There are a few too many caveats keeping us from recommending Dos Croquetas, a shop in Westchester that makes croquetas with unconventional flavors. The croquetas may come in fun trays with individual slots and designated dipping sauces like mojo aioli. But the vast majority of the options here aren’t great—we’ve been twice, tried every flavor, and noticed a consistent sourness that gets less subtle as the croquetas cool down. They also cost $2.20 each, which feels especially stiff considering you can go to Islas Canarias and pay $1.49 for croquetas twice as good. If you end up here, order the Mexican street corn and bacon cheddar hamburger croquetas, and eat them quickly so they’re nice and hot.
