Contrary to its name, there are no wheels at this Sherman Oaks pizza spot. Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn is a neighborhood slice shop, but ditch the slices. To get the most out of this spot, order a whole pie that comes fresh from the oven and stays crackly with just a little sponginess. The slices, on the other hand, are reheated to order until they reach the temperature of the sun’s core, meaning you have to wait several minutes to even taste anything. (They’re also just dry.) The classic pepperoni works well in a salty junk-food way, but it’s greasier than an oil pan. We prefer the smoky eggplant version that’s light like a bruschetta and even better after a few shakes of parmesan.
