This counter-order spot in West Adams makes very solid Danish-style (open-faced) sandwiches. The only place to sit here is a bar facing the street, but the food’s ideal for takeout. The mostly traditional sandwiches come in combos, like curried egg salad with pickled herring, and pork loin with cabbage. Both are served cold on rye bread with a bunch of pickled things. Or, there’s also a terrific non-traditional meatball sub with lingonberries, braised greens, and mustard. This is a great spot for a substantial lunch that won’t have you falling asleep while you edit Excel sheets at 3pm.
