If you’re not, this weekend holds major existential meaning. Are you desperately trying to soak up the remaining days of the proverbial unofficial summer? You’ve come to the right place. This weekend is filled with pride parties, pop-ups, and much more.

Pride is returning to Downtown’s Pershing Square this weekend for their annual DTLA Proud Festival. The event runs from August 27th-29th and will feature an array of live performances, DJs, film screenings, art installations, food trucks, bars, and outdoor dance parties. Admission is free on Friday and $10 on Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re looking for a good spot to pregame any of Downtown’s Pride events, check out Redbird. The longstanding spot on 2nd street is bringing back their Happy Hour this week for the first time since before the pandemic. It runs weekly from Wednesday to Friday, 5-6pm, and features $10 cocktails, snacks, and wines by the glass.

This Sunday, August 29th at The Ford Theatre in Hollywood, experience a night celebrating on-the-rise and established Filipino American performers from the worlds of hip hop, comedy, music, and dance. Featured performers include AJ Rafael, Jules Aurora, Kaba Modern, and much more. Tickets are $45.


It’s still very much summer, but maybe deep down you’re already in full-on Halloween mode. If that sounds like you, head to Lawless Brewing Co. in North Hollywood this Sunday. Running from noon to 8pm, their Spooky Sunday event is an all-day tribute to scary movies, Halloween specials, and much more. The event is family-friendly, and will include food trucks, photo ops, and lots of beer.


Running this Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm, this curated day festival inside RowDTLA is back and all outdoors this year. Tickets cost $10-30, and include free portraits, beverages, DIY jewelry, and more. If you get hungry, there’s a rooftop patio with food provided by Shake Shack.


Doshi, the NYC-based dosirak specialist, is popping up at Kismet in Los Feliz this Saturday, the 28th from 12-3pm. Along with $20 dosirak sets, they’ll also be selling Doshi tote bags, plus there will be plenty of wine and outdoor seating to go around.
