5 Exciting Things To Do & Eat Between April 6th-12th
Dance parties, day trips, and pop-ups.
It might only be the first week of April, but LA is about to get its first taste of summer with temperatures well into the 90s all week long. Instead of crossing your fingers and hoping your AC window unit still works, head out and embrace the heat with friends and family. This week we’re excited about dance parties, day trips, and several different pop-ups.
While there are all kinds of day trips you can take around LA, this weekend, head up to Los Alamos on Saturday, April 9th for a collaborative cookout featuring Priedite BBQ and Malli LA. Along with Priedite’s normal BBQ spread, expect special dishes such as pastrami beef cheek barbacoa adobada, pastrami bagel sandwiches, salsas, sourdough bagels, and more. The event starts at 9am sharp, but we recommend getting there a little early—food goes quickly.
It’s a new month and that means that Infatuation LA’s resident staff writer/astrologist Kat Hong is back with April’s Restaurant Horoscope. Where should an Aries eat on their birthday? How should Virgos approach the mid-month full moon? And what LA restaurant could possibly be luxurious enough for a Taurus? The universe’s hardest questions are answered.
Weho queer spaces were disproportionally effected during the pandemic, and though the area lost several iconic spots, new bars and hangout spots are starting to arrive. There’s Lance Bass’s massive Heart club, the return of Gym Bar, plus all the old favorites that make this area one of the best nightlife neighborhoods in LA.
This Thursday April 7th, Hotville Chicken and Trejo’s Tacos will be putting on a one-night collaboration event at Trejo’s Hollywood from 6-8pm. The menu will feature hot chicken tacos, burritos, and bowls, plus they’ll be live music as well.
There are several dance parties happening in LA this weekend, but two that have caught our eye are the Big 80s Dance Party at Resident in the Arts District and Echo Flex, A 2000s Hip Hop Party in Echo Park. Both events start at 9pm and are 21 and over, so it really just depends which decade you want to revisit.
