The Woodbine
Included in
The Woodbine has the snug, lively feel of a tavern straight out of Hobbiton. It’s lit by twinkling fairy lights, foliage is scattered throughout, and flickering candles threaten to be extinguished by hearty laughter coming from wooden booths. If you can, grab a high stool in the middle of the room, underneath the Guinness toucan, so you can soak up the atmosphere of this crowded little Highbury bar. The pints of Guinness—each one creamy and smooth—are some of our favourite in London. We’d recommend pairing your glass of the black stuff with a curry and some spring rolls. It’s by no means the best Thai food in the city, but it’s comforting, serviceable stuff that works when you don’t fancy leaving to get dinner.
