The Nags Head

The words above the bar at The Nags Head read 'Pizza, Ale, Cats'. Which feels like the manifesto of this community-focused pub. While you order pints at this Walthamstow spot you’ll be stared at by a Kylie Minogue cutout and the pub’s resident cat. An ankle graze means you’re a good person—no pressure. The short menu of pizzas and burgers is a crowd-pleasing, prosecco-soaking necessity—the Topo Gigio is our favourite pizza for peak cheesiness. But you don’t really come to The Nags Head for the food. You come here to flop into faded sofas with your best friends or to pile into the spacious, multi-tiered beer garden for a cigarette break. It’s a neighbourhood pub with a huge heart, and after a few visits you’ll be welcomed like family.
