Lahpet
A familiar ‘former-food stall-turned-bricks’ story, Lahpet does pretty tasty modern Burmese for the east London faithful. It’s mostly curries on offer here. The lentil and mushroom one, in particular, is very earthy and delicious, and the shrimp paste dumplings to start are a decent crowdpleaser. The restaurant itself is a modern-ish comfortable space, and you’d have to a particularly difficult person not to have a nice, casual meal here.
