Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse
The award for Wimbledon’s most dimly lit restaurant goes to Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse. The name doesn’t exactly slip off the tongue but the juicy tenderloin will after you douse it in peppercorn sauce. It’s ideal for a romantic dinner that feels intimate even when the whole room is packed out, or a tame birthday involving the Buenos Aires steak sampler board for the table, with all of the sauces and every type of potato on the side (fries, chips, and mash). The Argentinian menu here is pretty straightforward, and the best thing is to fill up on a couple of cuts of steak—they know what they’re doing, so you won’t get something well-done when you asked for medium. It’s a popular spot so you’re better off booking in advance, but the always-cheery servers usually do their best to find you a table if you rock up for an impromptu post-work dinner.
