Houston has, roughly, one metric ton of sushi restaurants, and Aburi’s modestly sized nigiri list only adds to the mix. This Greenway spot is where flame-broiled strips of snapper and buttery pieces of chu toro are served to groups of diners that could be mistaken for an episode of Girlfriends. Aside from a playlist of Frank Ocean’s greatest hits, Aburi is pretty quiet during dinner. So if you’re stuck in Galleria traffic, need a quick lunch at the sushi bar, or want a Happy Hour where you can get nigiri pieces for half the price and lychee martinis for $8, find a seat at their sushi counter.
