Shanghai Terrace
It’s no surprise that Shanghai Terrace is luxurious—it's inside the Peninsula Hotel along the Mag Mile. Chopsticks rest on golden holders shaped like boats, and each meal begins with warm “ST" monogrammed towels. But it’s the elevated Chinese food that completes the experience. At $21, the four pieces of lobster, chicken, and truffle dumplings are definitely “Just Got A Promotion” dumplings, but the umami from the truffle combined with the sweetness from the lobster is delicious. The peking duck is also fantastic—with glistening crispy skin and a spread of julienned cucumber, radish, hoisin, and sweet and sour sauce. We especially like eating here in the warmer months when we can make chun bing duck wraps on their secluded, namesake terrace.
