Moonwalker Cafe is the plant-filled, white brick, dog-friendly cafe of your California coastal dreams. This makes sense, since the owner and chef of this little Avondale spot moved back to her home neighborhood after years in Southern California. You’ll be greeted with friendly service and a short menu of regularly rotating breakfast dishes, sandwiches, bowls, and other snacks. Plus, there’s Dark Matter Coffee to drink. And in the short time you wait for your food, no less than four locals will stop by and make conversation with each other, and with any random person who wanders in. It’s almost like having lunch with your family, although here you can escape at 3pm when Moonwalker closes.
