Afternoon Tea at LondonHouse skews informal. It takes place in the hotel’s lobby/bar, so while you’re delicately nibbling on a lemon lavender scone into, a Morningstar Investment Conference participant will be a few feet away from you loudly taking a meeting over Zoom. Despite the casual setting, the pastries look like an edible Art Basel exhibit. Everything comes out displayed on a geometric tiered tray that’s probably from CB2, and while the flavors can be hit-or-miss, the sweets are visually playful. You’ll also find tasty savories like a duck sausage spring roll, pea falafel, and an asparagus tart instead of the usual cucumber sandwich. Plus, little details are a nice touch—like a strawberry rosé jam instead of mixed fruit, and a white chocolate vanilla bean scone that’s not too sweet. Tea service is available daily, and weekdays will be relatively quiet, with the exception of the occasional conference-goer.
