Good Night John Boy goes all-in trying to convince you the ‘70s are worth a revisit. And thanks to multiple disco balls, TVs playing clips of Happy Days, and the general feeling that you’re drinking in your grandparents’ wood-paneled basement, this West Loop bar and club does a surprisingly good job with the time warp. But skip the food—the french bread pizza tastes like it was once frozen, and the "TV dinner" has sad mac and cheese—and stick to the gimmicky cocktails. Although they lean sweet, it’s fun how a piece of cotton candy transforms into a colorful mood ring martini and tastes like liquified Gushers. Be hypnotized by the drink’s glittery swirl and the incredible (but very loud) sound system, then head upstairs to the dance floor and live out your dancing queen dreams.
