If you grab a booth inside this Ravenswood sandwich spot, you’ll see relics (like framed French artwork) of the old French bistro that was there before. But at Falcon’s, escargot and steak frites have been replaced by a roster of sandwiches. None of them will start a food revolution, but if you’re in the area and looking for a decent, sizable sandwich with fries, their menu has plenty of candidates for the job. The fried chicken has a crispy batter, and their Philly cheesesteak, though the meat is sliced on the thicker side, is juicy with grilled peppers, onions, and gooey mozzarella. There’s also a pasta section on the menu, but take the hint from their name and stick to the sandwiches.
