Awash Ethiopian Restaurant

Awash’s spacious, boxy interior and hardwood floors make it feel a little like a wedding reception venue. This checks out, since you can reserve this Edgewater Ethiopian restaurant’s space for any event that warrants a 50-seat communal table: weddings, birthdays, or graduation parties. It's particularly convenient for the latter since it’s across from Loyola—it's common to find a handful of students here. Awash has classics like doro wot and gomen, along with spicy shrimp tibs or their delicious elebete. The garlicky pureed fava beans topped with olive oil nicely complements their tart injera.
